How to Search the Lincoln County Court Docket
Start at Missouri Case.net. This is the state courts' own search service. The 45th Judicial Circuit uses it rather than a county vendor. The best tool is an exact case number or uniform citation number. No number? Search by litigant name, filing date, or scheduled hearing instead. Before trusting a result, confirm it names the right Lincoln County court and case style.
Case.net shows a case header, public parties and attorneys, Docket Entries, hearings, charges, judgments, and other tabs the security level permits. Remember the limit. A search result is case information. It is not a certified copy. Go through the Circuit Clerk when you need a certified docket sheet or document.
- Open Case.net and choose the search route that matches the information available, such as Case Number, Litigant Name, Filing Date, or Scheduled Hearings & Trials.
- Select the Lincoln County option in the 45th Judicial Circuit location choices shown by the live form, then enter the requested case, name, or date details.
- Compare results by court, filing date, case style, and status. A matching surname alone does not establish that a result belongs to the sought case.
- Open the case header and then Docket Entries. Read the newest setting and latest dated activity along with the chronological filing history.
- Call the Circuit Clerk for a public-terminal route or a plain or certified copy when a document is unavailable online or requires formal certification.
Note: An empty online result can mean a bad search term, a transfer, a confidential case category, or document-level access limits.
Lincoln County Court Docket Search Paths on Case.net
The right Lincoln County docket search depends on what you already know. Case Number Search takes the court number. It also accepts an alternate OCN where one is offered. Litigant Name Search is the practical fallback for a public party. Filing Date Search narrows a known date range. Scheduled Hearings & Trials helps find an upcoming setting. Judgment Index covers civil judgments only, so it is not a full active-case docket.
| Search path | Best use | Lincoln County check |
|---|---|---|
| Case Number | An exact case or eligible citation number is available. | Verify the 45th Judicial Circuit and Lincoln County location. |
| Litigant Name | The party name is known but the number is not. | Compare the caption, filing date, and court before opening a result. |
| Filing Date | A filing window is known. | Use a live-form date format and narrow to the participating court where offered. |
| Scheduled Hearings & Trials | A future court date or judicial officer is known. | Use the result as an information aid, then confirm a near-term setting with the court. |
The official Case.net File Viewer information draws a line worth learning. A docket entry with a link may open an attached document. An unlinked line can mean no attachment exists. Or the viewer simply has no access to it. The docket line and the document are not the same thing. Treat them separately.
The Lincoln County government home page presents the county's official offices and services.
County government pages can point you toward the right court and department. Even so, Case.net stays the public search interface for any Lincoln County court docket.
What a Lincoln County Court Docket Shows
A Lincoln County court docket is the dated record of a case's activity. The Case Header identifies the matter. Docket Entries follow in time order. They list filings, notices, hearings, orders, and outcomes. Tabs may also split out future settings, charges, sentences, civil judgments, or post-judgment collection. What the public sees depends on case type and security setting.
| Case Header | Case number, court location, case style, filing date, status, and other public case metadata. |
|---|---|
| Parties & Attorneys | Role-labeled parties and counsel of record where the information is public. |
| Docket Entries | The chronological record of actions, filings, notices, settings, orders, and dispositions. |
| Scheduled Hearings & Trials | Future or recorded settings. The newest setting is more useful than an older date left in the history. |
| Charges or Judgments | Criminal charge and sentence information, or civil-judgment data, when the applicable tab is available. |
| Document Link | A linked entry can expose a public attachment. An unlinked entry does not establish that a public document is available. |
Missouri case numbers combine year, location, category, sequence, and subcase parts. Copy a Lincoln County number straight from the citation, notice, or live record.
Reading Lincoln County Court Docket Entries, Not Just Case Status
Status alone tells you little. Each Lincoln County docket entry captures one action behind the current posture. A notice of setting names a hearing or trial date. A continuance, reset, or pass means an earlier setting moved, and that history stays. Orders are the judge's directions. A disposition records an outcome such as dismissal, judgment, or conviction. Read the newest activity first. Trace backward when context matters.
- Docket entry
- One dated line recording a filing, court action, notice, or outcome.
- Arraignment
- An early criminal appearance where charges, rights, a plea, or the next procedural step can be addressed.
- Continuance or reset
- A move from an existing setting to a later date. The old date may still appear in the docket history.
- Disposition
- The recorded result of a case or charge, such as a dismissal, judgment, conviction, or other final action.
- ECASE
- An indicator that case documents have been scanned or electronically filed and no paper file exists.
The Lincoln County Circuit Clerk page names the office that keeps filings and records for every case from start to finish.
Whenever a docket line calls for the actual document, a date confirmation, or certification, the clerk's record desk is the local next step.
Which Lincoln County Courts Keep Dockets
Missouri organizes its courts into circuits, and Lincoln County sits in the 45th Judicial Circuit. That circuit runs several divisions. They are circuit, associate, family, probate, juvenile, small claims, alternative or drug court, and municipal. Each division keeps its own docket. So a Lincoln County court docket might sit in any one of them. It depends on the type of case. Municipal judges fall inside the circuit-court structure under Missouri law. That means a city ordinance case can follow a city-facing process. Its court record still belongs to the broader circuit system.
| Court | Docket covers | Where to search |
|---|---|---|
| 45th Circuit Court | Felony, circuit civil, associate civil and criminal, family, probate, juvenile, traffic, municipal transfers, and assigned specialty matters. | Case.net, then the Lincoln County Circuit Clerk. |
| Associate and Small Claims Divisions | Limited civil and criminal work, rent and possession, small claims, and other assigned matters. | Case.net and the Justice Center clerk route. |
| Troy and Moscow Mills Municipal Divisions | Local traffic and ordinance cases with active city court information. | Case.net plus the applicable city court contact. |
| Winfield, Elsberry, and Hawk Point Municipal Matters | Municipal matters routed to the Justice Center under the current city arrangements. | Case.net and the 45th Circuit or Circuit Clerk contact. |
Lincoln County's own division descriptions set small claims up to $5,000 in the associate-court route, along with associate civil actions up to $25,000 and rent and possession matters. Those local thresholds hint at the likely division. The case header, though, is the definitive location for an individual docket.
Lincoln County Court Docket Divisions in the 45th Circuit
The 45th Circuit's divisions explain why one Lincoln County court docket can look nothing like another. Circuit-level civil and felony cases can go to the circuit judge. Associate divisions handle limited-jurisdiction work plus matters assigned under local rules. Probate covers estates, guardianships, conservatorships, and certain mental-health matters. The Juvenile Division hears abuse, neglect, delinquency, status-offense, adoption, and juvenile-office cases. All of it sits behind strict access limits.
The official Lincoln County divisions page gives the local civil, criminal, juvenile, and probate descriptions. They are shown there in the county's own words.
The assigned division in the case header controls where the current docket is maintained.
Finding Lincoln County Court Dates and Settings
Start with the paper. A citation, summons, or court-issued notice carries the original Lincoln County court date. Case.net adds a Scheduled Hearings & Trials search plus a settings area for each case. Under Docket Entries you may spot a notice of setting. You may also see a hearing held, a continuance, a reset, a plea, a trial, or a disposition. The history can keep an earlier date, so trust the newest future setting. Then confirm any imminent appearance with the court coordinator, the division clerk, or the Circuit Clerk.
The Circuit Clerk's published lines are 636-528-0326 and 636-528-9168. The 45th Circuit jury line, 636-528-0328, covers jury status only. It is not a general case-calendar line. Lincoln County court calendar information walks through the setting and confirmation chain in more depth.
Note: A court calendar or city event listing can show a court session. That alone does not prove a particular case is still set for that time.
ECASE and Lincoln County Court Docket Access at the Public Terminal
Remote access to a Lincoln County court docket does not cover every document. Missouri's public-access rollout made eligible public documents filed on or after July 1, 2023 available remotely under security and redaction rules. The 45th Circuit joined in the November 2023 group. Older filings, ECASE material, and anything not available from a home computer may require the courthouse public-access terminal.
The Lincoln County Justice Center sits at 45 Business Park Drive in Troy. The official pages do not state where the terminal sits, counter hours, copy cutoffs, parking, or security practices. So call the Circuit Clerk before visiting. A terminal reaches statewide public cases and documents, never confidential material.
The Lincoln and Pike County courts page is the county's official page on the courts. It covers their services.
The Justice Center is where you reach the circuit docket in person. That role belongs to it, not to the separate County Clerk office at 201 Main Street, which handles county-government records instead.
Public Access to Lincoln County Court Dockets
Lincoln County public docket access runs on Missouri court rules and public-records law. Court Operating Rule 4 sets the statewide framework. That framework covers recordkeeping, docket sheets, calendars, indexes, public terminals, and confidentiality categories. The Missouri Sunshine Law gives a process for government records. Yet it cannot override a court rule, statute, or order that closes a court record. Case.net is a public information service. It does not replace a clerk-certified record.
Key rules:
Court Operating Rule 4 establishes Missouri court recordkeeping, docket, calendar, index, terminal, and confidentiality rules.
Missouri Sunshine Law §610.023 requires a governmental custodian to act by the end of the third business day or explain a delay.
Missouri Sunshine Law §610.026 caps ordinary paper-copy charges at ten cents per page while allowing specified research and duplication costs.
Missouri §211.321 generally closes juvenile proceedings and social records except for stated legal exceptions.
Missouri §610.140 makes covered court records confidential after an eligible expungement order, subject to the statute.
The official 45th Circuit website is the source represented by this court-access image.
Official court contacts help you confirm a docket entry locally. Even so, the record on display can stay limited by the rule or order that applies.
Lincoln County Court Docket Results That Stay Restricted
Not every Lincoln County court docket is open to every public search. Juvenile, mental-health, sealed, expunged, and protected-party matters carry special restrictions. A public case header can exist while its document stays unavailable, and a protected person may not appear in a name search. Documents predating remote access may need a courthouse terminal even when the case is public. Social Security numbers, confidential addresses, financial-account information, and similar identifiers are redacted or otherwise protected.
When a Lincoln County search returns nothing, check the spelling, the case number, the court, and the filing date. A municipal matter that moved into the circuit system can get a new number. If the file should be public, the Circuit Clerk can explain the proper record route. The clerk cannot hand over a document that is sealed, confidential, or unavailable to the requester.
The Lincoln County department directory lists the official contacts for reaching the right office.
The directory separates court contacts from county-government offices. That split matters when an online docket calls for a clerk follow-up.
The Lincoln County Clerk and Docket Records
The Lincoln County Circuit Clerk, Kathy Krieg Hall, keeps the circuit civil, criminal, traffic, juvenile, probate, family, small-claims, municipal-division, and related case records. They are held at the Justice Center. Do not confuse her office with the Lincoln County Clerk, Kenneth Schulte. His office maintains County Commission and other county-government records and handles county Sunshine requests. A circuit docket or a filed court document starts with the Circuit Clerk, not the County Clerk's county-government counter.
For a copy request, bring the case number, the party or caption, and the document or event date. Bring whether you need a plain or certified copy. The county does not post its current court copy, certification, mailing, identification, or turnaround details online. Call ahead for the current amount and delivery instructions. Fees from another circuit will not apply here.

Lincoln County Public Docket Versus a Certified Court Record
A public Lincoln County docket search helps you spot case activity, settings, and available documents. A certified record is different. It is a copy issued by the Circuit Clerk with the certification a formal court copy requires. Case.net works well for finding a document date or title. But it cannot substitute for the clerk's certification. For the underlying filing history and record-request routes, see Lincoln County court records information.
On price, one point holds: Case.net provides a free public case-information layer. The county's current court-copy or certification fee is not published. The Sunshine Law's ordinary paper-copy ceiling applies to public governmental records under that statute. But court copy schedules can be governed separately. Ask the Circuit Clerk for a current quote before requesting copies.

| County Commission or county-government record | Use the separate County Clerk and county Sunshine route at 201 Main Street. |
Court Dockets by City in Lincoln County
Each big city in Lincoln County handles its court docket a little differently. Troy keeps its municipal courtroom inside City Hall. Moscow Mills runs an active municipal-court office and holds monthly sessions. The other three top cities are Elsberry, Winfield, and Hawk Point. They point people to the Justice Center in Troy for court access. Even so, a city office is not the last stop. When you need the official court docket, a setting, or a certified record for any of these cities, Case.net and the Circuit Clerk still matter more than a city desk. A city hall can help with local procedure. But the clerk's office holds the record itself. The Lincoln County community profile ranks these incorporated cities and comes straight from the county's own site.
The population figures from 2020 set the order of the five city routes that follow. That ranking is just a way to organize the list. The rule for getting the court record does not change from one city to the next.
Troy Court Docket
12,686 residents in 2020. Municipal courtroom at City Hall, with city court information and a 45th Circuit search route.
Moscow Mills Court Docket
3,317 residents in 2020. Active municipal court office and monthly sessions, with open files directed to Case.net.
Elsberry Court Docket
1,937 residents in 2020. Municipal court moved to the Lincoln County Circuit Court route in Troy.
Winfield Court Docket
1,518 residents in 2020. All court cases transferred to Lincoln County Circuit Court in August 2021.
Hawk Point Court Docket
676 residents in 2020. Police department information lists the municipal court at the Justice Center.
Why Lincoln County City Court Dockets Move to the Justice Center
The city named at the top of a case caption is not always the hearing place. That is the first surprise for many people. Winfield says all of its court cases moved to Lincoln County Circuit Court in August 2021. Elsberry sends municipal-court matters to the Circuit Court at the Justice Center. Hawk Point lists its municipal court at that same Troy location. None of these are separate county portals. They are municipal-division arrangements inside the 45th Circuit system.
Troy and Moscow Mills keep more city-facing court details on hand. Moscow Mills notes that open case files can be viewed through Case.net. Troy points anyone without a ticket number to a 45th Judicial Circuit case search. Start with your citation or notice for the venue and the date. The city office can explain its local steps. Yet the Circuit Clerk keeps the circuit case file. The Thomas F. Eagleton U.S. Courthouse page gives the official details for this federal courthouse.
A Lincoln County link can also show up in federal court. That is a separate system entirely. Federal civil, criminal, and bankruptcy docket access runs through the federal courts, not Case.net and not the Lincoln County Circuit Clerk.
Map and Directions to the Lincoln County Justice Center
Circuit, associate, family, probate, juvenile, small-claims, and municipal-transfer files for the 45th Judicial Circuit are kept at the Lincoln County Justice Center, 45 Business Park Drive, in Troy. This is a separate building from the county-government courthouse at 201 Main Street, which houses the County Clerk and county administration rather than the circuit docket. Elsberry, Winfield, and Hawk Point municipal matters are also handled at the Justice Center.

The county's official pages do not publish the Circuit Clerk counter's hours, a public-terminal floor or count, a parking arrangement, or a security-screening rule for the Justice Center, so call ahead to confirm current access before a visit. The 45th Circuit's juror page says the court will take reasonable steps for effective communication and access for people with disabilities; ask the Circuit Clerk in advance for a specific accommodation.
